The equator can be found with close examination. With a bright light source, sun light, close to a light bulb, rotate the ball as to create a half moon situation. It is a line around the ball where two halves of material were fused, or where the mold parting line was. It varies in width, but is smooth and flanked on either side by parallel rows of dimples. Titleist PROFESSIONAL, PRO V 1, TOUR BALATA, and TOUR PRESTIGE are printed on the equator. In all (most) other balls there is no relationship between the equator and printing. Some balls (Nike and Precept models) have three equators, two of which seem to be part of dimple pattern design. Once tried it will become easier to locate.
